Hi, my name is Laura. My life was pretty
good until I was about ten years old, when my
grandfather died. After that, my parents got a
divorce and because of that I had to switch
schools a lot. My grades dropped from A's to
F's. Then at the age of 11, I started smoking
marijuana, dating older guys, drinking, and
going to clubs. Then because I wanted to look
like my friends, I started selling my body to
afford clothes. What I couldn't afford, I
shoplifted. I got involved in gangs and several
times I was arrested. Finally, I was brought to
House of Hope. Soon after that, I accepted
Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
I was
baptized in October and I'm now a "born
again" virgin. My family is being restored,
which I thought would never happen and I
learned that Jesus Christ is going to love,
accept, and forgive me - no matter what. I
was reading the book of Esther in the Bible
and I want to be like Queen Esther. She was
always brave and courageous. I am taking a
chance of losing popularity just as she did to
help others, so that I may help save my generation.
I want to tell my friends about finding
Jesus and how he has helped me. In Luke
12:15, it says that I can trust God to meet all
of my needs because I have learned to pray
and seek Him first. Would you please pray
that I continue to make good choices.
